Little Update for You!

Hey guys! It's been awhile and I just wanted to share what has been going on in my life since my last post. Well, I got braces for one thing. I got them on March 3, ten days before my birthday. I was in pain when I first got them, but after the first week past the second week was a breeze. So far so good with braces on. On March 13, I turned 18 years old! It was a very exciting day for me. The days leading up to my birthday were full of excitement because I was so excited that I was going to turn 18 and become a legal adult. Yes, I know, I'm an adult now! Haha. Anyways, it was a Friday on my birthday, and I my school had off so it made it convenient for my family and I to go to Maryland for the day and cruise around. The first thing when we got to Maryland was find the masjid to go pray Friday prayer, Jumaat. By that time, it was not time for prayer, so we went to Amina Thai Restaurant to eat lunch. The food there was amazing! By the way, weeks leading up to my birthday I was craving some thai food, so you can expect how I would react when I finally had thai. I was a very happy girl! After eating, we went to go pray. After praying, we went to the mall and shopped around. Of course, I'm a very picky person when it comes to shopping for clothes, so it took me a while, but I found some pieces that I really liked. After that, we decided to go home and go to the Pennsylvania Bakery to buy a cake before it closes. We made it on time if you were wondering. We got home, and at this point I was so tired. It was only 7:30pm. After refreshing myself, I spent more time with my family talking and eating delicious cake. I had a great 18th birthday and I thank my family for doing the best they can for me to have a great birthday!

Yes, it's true. I met an Orange Is The New Black cast member, Diane Guerrero on April 11, 2017. And yes, I did just write the exact date. I was fangirling when I saw her. No joke. Well here's what happened. I just finished my last class and I was heading to my car to put my stuff away before going into the building where the event was held. After putting my things away, I walked towards the building in the exact moment right when Diane's driver drove up. She walked out, security people around her, and walked right in the building. I was behind her with my friends walking in and as I was walking, I was freaking out to my friends. I could tell all the people she walked passed was so excited! They were definitely starstruck. ICNA 2017

Hi everyone! Finally I have time to blog my experience at ICNA 2017! I've been so busy with school and exams that I haven't had time. It's currently 12:56am as I am writing this on April 23rd. So ICNA 2017 was so much fun and informative! It lasted 3 days, 2 being the whole day and the last day being a half day. It ran from April 14-16 at the Baltimore Convention Center. When we arrived, it seemed like there wasn't a lot of people, but once it was time to pray, eat and walk the bazaar, everyone came out. So the first day, my family and I attended the main session held at the Main Hall. We heard so many speakers speak to the audience, like Sh. Omar Suleiman, Dr. Dalia F. Fahmy, Linda Sarsour, comedian Jeremy McLennan, Yasir Qadhi, and many more. And I met up with my cousin and her parents and anyone else we knew from the community.
