I HELD AN OSCARS AWARD?!

Wait what?! Did I really hold an Oscars award? YES I DID. It was unreal you guys. So here's what happened. Jon Landau, film producer of Titanic, Avatar, and many more movies, was set to speak at Penn State Harrisburg at 7pm. An hour before the event started, I was in the library working on my assignments and killing time so I could attend the event later. 6:45 hit and I packed up all my things, put it in my backpack, and left the library to go meet my dad and sisters who were coming to hear Jon Landau speak. They finally arrived and we went into the building where the event was held. We took our seats, waited for more people to show up, and then we began the event. I could see Jon Landau with my own two eyes in front of me on the stage. It was pretty awesome! He gave an awesome talk about dreaming. Not just dreaming, but the whole film industry within itself. He talked about his experience and how he got to where he is now. He said something along the lines "Everyone can dream, but the real dreamers are those who make it a reality". Basically, he is saying you should take the initiative and make your dreams happen. I thought that was powerful. Throughout the talk, he showed clips. The first clip that was shown to us was the building of the Titanic set. It took 100 days and 500 members to put it all together. It was so cool seeing the process of the Titanic being built. They definitely did a good job! Later on, he mentioned Avatar. And he did mention that Walt Disney World will soon open the Pandora attraction, the land of Avatar, on May 27, 2017. The whole work that was put into making Pandora look like how it is in the movie was amazing! Every detail was spot on. After an hour and a half talk, Landau concluded by showing us his Oscars award. To be honest, I did not expect that to be shown. I was shocked that I was even in the same room with an Oscars award. Everyone wanted pictures with Jon and of course the OSCARS AWARD, so we got in line and waited our turn. Finally our time came and we got pictures with Landau and his Oscars award. When he handed me the award, I was so worried about dropping it. I held it tightly as possible. Not only was holding the Oscars award so surreal (which Titanic won by the way), but meeting Jon Landau was pretty awesome too! He was so nice and very humble. It was definitely a great event last night. Good job Penn State Harrisburg!

Yes, it's true. I met an Orange Is The New Black cast member, Diane Guerrero on April 11, 2017. And yes, I did just write the exact date. I was fangirling when I saw her. No joke. Well here's what happened. I just finished my last class and I was heading to my car to put my stuff away before going into the building where the event was held. After putting my things away, I walked towards the building in the exact moment right when Diane's driver drove up. She walked out, security people around her, and walked right in the building. I was behind her with my friends walking in and as I was walking, I was freaking out to my friends. I could tell all the people she walked passed was so excited! They were definitely starstruck. ICNA 2017

Hi everyone! Finally I have time to blog my experience at ICNA 2017! I've been so busy with school and exams that I haven't had time. It's currently 12:56am as I am writing this on April 23rd. So ICNA 2017 was so much fun and informative! It lasted 3 days, 2 being the whole day and the last day being a half day. It ran from April 14-16 at the Baltimore Convention Center. When we arrived, it seemed like there wasn't a lot of people, but once it was time to pray, eat and walk the bazaar, everyone came out. So the first day, my family and I attended the main session held at the Main Hall. We heard so many speakers speak to the audience, like Sh. Omar Suleiman, Dr. Dalia F. Fahmy, Linda Sarsour, comedian Jeremy McLennan, Yasir Qadhi, and many more. And I met up with my cousin and her parents and anyone else we knew from the community.
